I had my FUE transplant on 08/09/2020 at the Hair Dr clinic in Dewsbury. Arriving at 8:00 am, I was warmly greeted by Sommiya, a really nice lady who immediately offered me a sausage bun and brewed a cup of tea. Then I met the surgeon, Dr. Arshad, a great guy who explained everything that was about to happen and made me feel comfortable. After they shaved my head, we jumped right into the procedure to extract the donor follicles and create the hair channels. The radio was playing, and I chatted with Dr. Arshad about our shared interests in boxing, rugby league, and NYC, making the morning fly by without any discomfort. Afterward, I enjoyed lunch provided by the clinic. Right after that, we moved on to the implant phase, which was also totally painless, and I even watched a movie on Netflix on the HD TV at the foot of the operating table. Once everything was wrapped up, I was served another cup of tea and brought back to see Dr. Arshad, who went over my aftercare plan and handed me a bag of medications along with an itinerary sheet and video. I had a fantastic experience at the Hair Dr; the staff are incredibly caring and take great pride in their work. Dr. Faisal Arshad is an excellent physician and skilled surgeon! The whole process went off without a hitch! I visited Hair Dr to tackle a thinning issue on the sides, and I’m really satisfied with how it turned out. You rarely see this kind of professionalism these days.

Here are the key points of my unfortunate experience with the hair doctor.

I traveled all the way from London to Leeds, but things went sideways. I was told I’d get a new appointment, but that never happened. I had to chase the hair doctor for a refund after driving in some pretty rough weather on the weekend of 01/02/19. To top it off, my travel expenses weren’t covered.

The communication was really lacking. I received pre-op instructions at 11pm through WhatsApp, which struck me as odd since we had been communicating via email the whole time.

I was assured that I would get my hotel and travel costs back in person, but that never came through.

While I believe they have the skills based on other reviews, when they mess up, they really do it in a big way.

I hope this sheds some light on the situation.

The pricing was fair, and they didn’t push me into making a snap decision (another company tried to lure me in with a grand off if I signed up on the spot! That’s not a choice you wanna rush into!!).

Their facility is very tidy and up-to-date, which is comforting as well.
